Newark---Philip S. Gilardo, 75, died on Wednesday (March 19, 2008), at his home on Colton Avenue.
Friends may call Saturday (March 22nd ) from 6 " 8 PM at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by his nephew Father John Colacino at 10 AM on Monday (March 24th) at St. Michael's Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Mr. Gilardo was born on February 16,1933, in West New York, New Jersey, the son of Michael and Josephine Palladino Gilardo. He was a distributor for Rochester Pepsi for over 40 years. He then acted as a distributor for Sprite and was also a sales representative for Sam's Club. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church, a member of the Newark Elks and had been a member Newark Council Knight's of Columbus. Phil served with the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955.
He is survived by is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary DiSanto Gilardo, a daughter Chrisanne (Tim) Beardslee of Conesus, a sister Gloria (Edward) Teshkoyan of West Caldwell, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
