Newark"Ralph R. Crumb, 78, died Monday (May 28, 2007) at his home on Sweed Road.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Wednesday (May 30th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday May 31, 2007 at the Newark Cemetery, North Main Street, Newark with Rev. Dan Benedict officiating.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Marbletown Fire Department, 6416 Silver Hill Road, Newark, New York 14513.

Mr. Crumb was born in Montezuma, New York, on November 17, 1928, the son of John and Frances Barley Crumb. He retired from Fold-Pac, where he worked for 41 years as a five-color pressman and a supervisor on the second shift. Ralph was a member of the Marbletown Fire Department and the Newark Rod & Gun Club. He loved woodworking and working in his garden and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Ralph was known as the "Mayor" of Parker Hill Road in Randolph, New York. He served in the US Navy from 1947 till 1950.

He is survived by his wife Necebbia "Fern", two daughters Rose Marie (Ronald) Pollot of Covington, Georgia and Necebbia (Eric) DeTaeye of Newark two stepsons Jackie Brimm of Geneva and William Brimm of Hawaii; seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Ralph was predeceased by a stepson Randy Brimm, a brother and four sisters.
