Ralph A. Vanderlinde
Newark ---Ralph A. Vanderlinde, 88, died Friday (January 11, 2013) at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Friends may call from 2-5 PM. on Sunday (January 13, 2013) at the Paul L. Murphy and Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A private funeral service will be held. Burial will be in Fairville Cemetery.
Memorials, in his name, may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Mr. Vanderlinde was born in Sodus on November 3, 1924, the son of the late Isaac and Lena Vanderlinde. He married Betty J. Willemsen, June 14, 1947. After retiring as Sgt from the Newark Police Department, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Art Graf, Inc. Ralph was an avid sportsman and member of the N.R.A.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty; daughters Barbara (William) Smith of Seneca Falls, Kathy (Daniel) Kaiser of Bloomfield, Sharon Vanderlinde of Newark; grandchildren Randy, Christopher and William Smith of Seneca Falls, Michelle (Arland Bradley) Uthe of Prattsburgh, Gregory (Heather) Kaiser of Williamsville and Terry (Carrie) Morse of North Syracuse; three great grandchildren Lena Uthe, Grace and Noah Kaiser; brothers Isaac (Margaret) of Lockport and Martin “Toby” Vanderlinde of Sodus. Ralph was predeceased by sisters Jeanette Davison, Marie Brennessel, Maude Featherly; brothers John, William and David “Blackie” Vanderlinde.
