Newark---Randall J. Hellert, 56, died peacefully at his home on Friday, October 3, 2008 following a courageous and brave battle with cancer.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday (October 5th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, NY. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday (October 6th) at the First United Methodist Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Randy was born on January 10, 1952, the son of Donald and Adelia LeBlanc Hellert. He grew up in Medina and lived there until 1987, when he and his family relocated to Newark. He graduated from Medina High School and then from Alfred State with a degree in agricultural business. Randy worked for Agway throughout Western New York for 32 years in retail sales as a store manager and in crop sales. He was a certified crop advisor. In 2002, he began working for Blower's Agra-Service in Hall, taking an early retirement in 2007.
Randy was a member of the Newark First United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed following the Buffalo Bills. First and foremost, Randy was a devoted and loving husband and father.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Deb (Holman) Hellert; his cherished daughters, Tricia (Steven) Partridge of Rochester and Heidi (Steven) Robb of Bloomfield; his parents Donald and Adelia Hellert of Medina, sisters Donna (Jim) Ferry of Woodbridge, Va, Marcia (Robert) Cook, , Cynthia (Gerald) Moule both of Medina, a brother Terrance (Kim) Hellert of Waterport and a brother-in-law Patrick (Jennifer) Holman of Medina, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his grandparents Mary and Levis LeBlanc and Edward and Elsie Hellert, his mother-in-law Annette Maglier and father-in-law Wayne Holman
