Newark"RC DePauw, 83, of Sanford, Florida, formerly of Newark on Tuesday (June 20, 2006) at the Central Florida Hospital in Sanford, Florida.
Father Peter Clifford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Saturday (July 15th) at St Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
Mr. DePauw was born in Jordon, New York on May 19, 1923, the son of Phillip and Leona DeBlaeye DePauw. A lone time resident of Newark, he owned and operated De Roo Food Products of Newark for many years. He was a communicant of All Souls Catholic Church in Sanford and a long time member of St. Michael's Church in Newark. While in Florida, he worked part-time for May Fair Country Club. RC served with the Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He is a member of the August Mauer Post American Legion and the Arcadia Memorial Post VFW in Newark. He also was a member of the Newark Elk's Lodge and had been a member of the Newark Country Club.
RC is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary, his children Gloria and Tony Paddock of DeBarry, Fl, Richard and Janelle DePauw of Apollo Beach, Fl., Phillip DePauw and Loretta Vitaro of Newark, Debbie Bray and Dale Fixsal of Orlando, Fl, Ray and Nancy DePauw of Newark, Gordon DePauw of Newark, Mike Swartz of Newark, daughter-in-law Sandra DePauw of Rochester; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law Wilbur and Cora DePauw and a sister-in-law Bertha Claeys, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sons William "Red" Reimer, Alton Dukelow, brothers Cy Claeys and Robert Claeys.
