Newark—Richard A. Allen, 73, Friday, September 27, 2024, at Hildebrandt Hospice in Rochester.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Park Presbyterian Church, 110 Maple Court in Newark.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626 or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.

Richard was born in Rochester, on August 27, 1951, the son of the late Richard and Violet Collins Allen. For years, he was a counselor at FLACRA and Catholic Family Charities. In the past he had restored facades of Victorian Homes. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, music, baseball and collecting rocks. He will be remembered for his sense of humor. He was a longtime friend of Bill W.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 26 years Christina; three daughters Alycia (Glenn Hallert) Allen, Sarah Aguglia, Julia (Jacob) Kornbau; a son Benjamin Allen four grandchildren Hannah Burns, Miles Kornbau, Nunzio Aguglia and Bennett Kornbau; a sister Audrey (David) DeVinney
