Newark/Clifton Springs " Richard L. Sears, 77, died Friday (March 3, 2006) at the Clifton Springs Hospital.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. on Tuesday (March 7th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (March 8th) at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials in his name may be made to AIDS of Rochester, 1350 University Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607 or to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, NY 14489.
Mr. Sears was born on December 15, 1928 in Clyde, New York the son of Benjamin and Etha Smith Sears, Sr. He and his wife owned and operated D-B Movers, Inc for over 20 years retiring in 1999. Previously, Rich had worked for Bloomer Brothers, Riegel Paper and Rendoll Paper.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Barbara, sons Richard C. (Debra) of Palmyra, David (Tina) of New Orleans, daughter Lisa (Donald) Ahrans of Newark, ten grandchildren Jennifer and Matthew Ahrans, David, Matthew, Lindsay, Christopher, Corinna, Courtney, Laura, Chad Sears, nine great grandchildren, two brothers Benjamin (Eleanor) of Wolcott, Robert (Lonnie) of Elmira Heights, sisters Betty Doyle of Rapid City, SD, Ida May "Midge" DeMarco of Newark, a special niece Pat (Don) Sidler and a nephew Joey (Carol Sears.
Rich is predeceased by his parents, a son Timothy in 1994, three brothers DeElting, Wesley and Wilbur Sears.
