Robert A. Black
Palmyra/Newark—Robert A. Black, 62, died Friday (October 9, 2009) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Family and friends may call from 3-6 P.M. on Sunday (October 11th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday
(October 12, 2009), at the funeral home with Rev. Christy Wareham officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
Memorials, in his name, may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 1200 Scottsville Road #A, Rochester, New York 14624.
Mr. Black was born on April 11, 1947, in Santiago, Pennsylvania the son of Forrest and Freda Frill Digman. He had worked as a welder at Garlock, Inc. for 40 years. Bob was in the US Army Infantry from 1966 to 1972, serving in Viet Nam. He was a member of the August Mauer Post American Legion and the Arcadia Memorial Post VFW in Newark.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Stella of Palmyra, three daughters Mary (Fred) Stubenrod of Palmyra, Julie (Scott) Heers of Phelps, Amy Jo Greule of Palmyra, ten grandchildren, a great granddaughter; brother Donald Digman of Aliquippa, Pa. and a sister Lucy Sanders of Sun Valley, Ca.
