Newark ---Robert J. Nary, 78, of Jason Drive, died Thursday (May 19, 2005) at Rochester General Hospital.
Friends may call from 4 - 8 PM on Monday (May 23rd) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be at 4 P.M. on Tuesday (May 24th) at the First United Methodist Church, South Main Street, Newark with the Rev. Dr. Elton O. Smith, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mr. Nary was born September 16, 1926, in Rochester, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth Hemmer Nary. Bob was an independent sales representative retiring in 1997. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newark where he was for many years the Chairman of the Trustees, the Finance Committee and the Improvements and Beautification Committee. Bob had also been a member of the Methodist Men and the Newark Country Club. He joined the Newark Rotary in 1987, where he was a Past President and had served as the club's secretary. He had been the Rotary's Area Representative and Assistant District Governor. During World War II, Bob served with the Army's 43rd Engineering and Construction Battalion during the Occupation of Japan.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Carole Jolley Nary, his son John (Jacqueline) Nary of Painted Post, daughters Lara Nary of Aberdeen, NJ, Victoria (Gary) Martin of Sturgis, Mi, and Elizabeth Ackerman of Freedom, NY, four grandchildren; a brother Raymond (Diane) Nary, Jr. of Rochester, sisters Elizabeth (Albert) Szembrot of Henrietta and Anne Nary of Rochester
