Robert A. Lemmon
Palmyra/Newark –Robert “Bob” Lemmon, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday (January 16, 2010) surrounded by his family at the Rochester General Hospital
Friends may call from 3-6 P.M. on Tuesday (January 19th) at the Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court, Newark. Funeral services will be at the church at 11 A.M. on Wednesday (January 20th).
Memorials in his name may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, New York 14489.
Mr. Lemmon was born in Geneva on June 30, 1937, the son of the late Alan and Florence Pierce Lemmon. He was a steam generator foreman for Rochester Gas and Electric Company for many years, retiring in 1995. Bob served in the US Army from 1955 to 1959. He will be remembered for his deep love of family and his unending good advice for each member. He was generous in helping the “underdogs”, taking them under his wing and guiding them to become productive members of society. He did the same for his fellow workers, teaching them, and guiding them with a good work ethic and sound financial advice. Bob had a great love of environment and humane treatment of animals. He loved his cottage on Seneca Lake, his Cris Craft boat “Sweetness” and camping in the Adirondacks. He will be remembered for his own “lingo”, nicknames and great sense of humor. Bob is loved and always will be loved by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Natalie (Waterman) Lemmon, three sons Ron (Judy) and their daughters Jessica and Kyle Lemmon; Jack (Jean) and their sons John and Dean Lemmon; Michael (Kelly) and their daughter Jordan. He is also survived by three daughters Tracey Lemmon, and her son Scott Carlson; Tara (Tosh) Lemmon and their children Zachary, Brandon, Keelan and Michaela; Patrice Lemmon, and his two sisters MaryJane Zito and Patricia Hessney.
