Robert Renzi, Sr.
Newark---Robert Renzi, Sr., 69, died Thursday (March 19,
2009) at Rochester General Hospital.
Friends may call from
2-5 PM on Sunday (March 22, 2009) at the
Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be at 10 A.M. on Monday
(March 23rd ) at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Humphries officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the National
Kidney Foundation of Upstate New York, 15 Prince Street, Rochester, New York
14607.
Mr. Renzi was born on April 25, 1939,
in Newark the son of Alfred and Angeline Federico Renzi. He was a 1957 graduate of Newark High
School. Bob had worked for the New York
Central Railroad and for 20 years, he
was a machinist at Garlock, Inc. In 1982, he bought the Tire Spot in Newark
which he operated until his retirement in 2004. He was also a partner with his wife in Newark
Discount Beverage. He was a member of
the DeLuge Hose Company #1 of the Newark Fire
Department and was active with the Newark Fire Police. Bob had been a volunteer with the Newark-Arcadia
Volunteer Ambulance. He had belonged to
the Palmyra Moose Club and the Newark Elks.
A drag race driver, Bob had won many championships throughout the
years. He was an avid weight lifter and
loved working in his garden.
He is survived by his
step-mother Jennie Renzi of Lyons, three sons Robert,
Jr., Michael and Alan (Michele) all of Newark, four grandchildren Makalia, Matthew, Mitchell and Anna. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years
Patricia Ann on December 7, 2007.
