Newark---Roger H. Clark, 89, died Wednesday (June 3, 2009) at Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Saturday (June 6th) at the Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court, Newark. Burial will be Newark Cemetery.
Memorials, in his name, may be made to Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court, Newark, New York 14513 or to the American Diabetes Assoc. of Rochester, 160 Allens Creek, Rochester, N.Y. 14618.
Mr. Clark was born on March 9, 1920 in Newark, the son of the late Horatio and Edith Schultz Clark. He farmed and worked as a truck driver before being employed by the Newark School District for 21 years. At the school, he was a bus driver and maintenance worker, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church. Roger served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Winnek Post American Legion in Geneva and the Newark Masonic Lodge #83. He was an avid bowler and a member of ABC Bowling Assoc. Roger also enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and many card games.
He is survived by his son William (Joan) of Newark, daughter Shirley (William) Hoot of Joy, four grandchildren Christopher (Shelly), Jonathan and Sara Ann Hoot, Miranda Clark, two great grandchildren Andrew and Caiden Hoot; a sister Elenor Rising of Newark, several nieces and nephews. Roger was predeceased by his wife Frances in 2003, two brothers Kenneth and Walter Clark and a sister Jane Bowe.
