Ronald F. Curtiss, Sr. “Pops” Newark –Ronald F. Curtiss, Sr. 74, died Tuesday (May 18, 2010) at Clifton Springs Hospital. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service at 5 P.M. on Sunday (May 23rd) at the First Presbyterian Church, 70 East Main Street, Victor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity. Mr. Curtiss was born January 15, 1936, in Rochester the son of Milton and Elizabeth Franklin Curtiss. He was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology and received extra training as a safety engineer at Georgia Tech. Ron was an iron worker for Local Union 33 in Rochester for many years before moving to Florida and Georgia where he was a safety engineer. After his retirement in 2002, he moved to Newark. Ron was a member of the Masons. He enjoyed making pottery, working in his garden and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife. Mary Ann Martin Curtiss. They were married on October 13, 1984 on the St. Regis, Mohawk Reservation. Also surviving are his children, J.C. of Lynn Haven, Fl, Todd of Victor, Tylor of Gates, Matthew of Raleigh, NC, Ronald Jr. of Victor, Raechel Curtiss Ciroula of Farmington and; eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a sister Sandy Harris of Hilton.
