Rose Krueger Verkey
Newark –Rose Krueger Verkey, 86, a longtime resident of Newark most recently residing at Vienna Gardens in Phelps, died Friday (July 30, 2010 at the DeMay Living Center.
Funeral services for Rose will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday (August 2nd) at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 50 Spencer Street, Lyons with Rev. Jack Bailey officiating. Burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery.
Memorials in her name may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Verkey was born on October 22, 1923 in Lyons, the daughter of Peter and Mary Perri Patrizi. She was a graduate of Lyons High School, Class of 1941. For over thirty years, Rose was a data processer at C.H. Stuart, Inc. She then worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Rochester for six years, retiring in1988. She was member of St. John’s Lutheran Church for over sixty years and a member of the Newark Elks Club Auxiliary.
Rose is survived by her son Ronald (Debbie) Krueger and stepson Charles (Chris) Verkey both of Newark; seven grandchildren Brian, Jessica, Mandy, Jeannie, Natalie, Dee and Adam; several great grandchildren; a sister Adeline (Chico) Moracco of Geneva, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands Edwin Krueger in 1985 and John Verkey in 2007.
