Fairville/Newark—Russell George, 50, passed away on Wednesday (July 17, 2013) at his home in Fairville.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Friday (July 19th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, New York. Father Peter Clifford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 A.M. on Saturday (July 20th) at St. Michael Church, 401 South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Fairville Cemetery.
Memorial gifts, in his memory, may be made to the charity of ones choice.
Mr. George was born in Clifton Springs on June 23, 1963, the son of Kenneth and Elizabeth “Herbie” Witt George. He lived in the Fairville area all his life and was a graduate of Newark High School in the Class of 1982. For the past twenty-two years, Russ has worked at Thomas Electronic in Clyde. He was a communicant of St. Michael Church in Newark and a member of the Fairville Fire Department. He enjoyed camping, hunting and riding his motorcycle. But most of all he loved being with his girls.
Russell is survived by his wife of ten years Korrine; two daughters Rachel and Sara at home; his parents Ken and Herbie of Newark; his siblings Patricia (Keith) Battle of Newark, Michael (Samantha) of Auburn, Steven, Robert (Jeanette), Kevin, Andrew and Julie (Rob) Nevelizer all of Newark; many nieces and nephews.
