 Newark/Rochester—Ruth J. Gulick, 97, died Thursday (February 18, 2016) at the Maplewood Nursing Home in Webster.

 A memorial service will be held onSunday (July 10, 2016) at 2:00 P.M. at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark with Pastor Paul Shoop officiating. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery

 Memorials, in her name, may be made to the Newark Public Library, 121 High Street, Newark, New York 14513.

 Mrs. Gulick was born on February 23, 1918 in Rochester, the daughter of late Oscar and Loretta Euerle Stenzel. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fairport. Ruth had worked at Sarah Coventry for several year and then the Newark Public Library for ten years, retiring 1976. When in Newark, she was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church and was also had been an active member of the Newark Garden Club and Friends of the Newark Library.

 She is survived by two sons Richard (Donna) of Fairport and James (Jane) of Newburgh, Indiana; four grandchildren Jeffrey, Gregory, Chad and Beth; 7 great grandchildren. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1983 and a brother Robert Stenzel.
