Thompson, Samuel R. Sr.

On October 15, 2005 at age 92. Survived by his son Samuel R. Jr. of Bergen, his daughter Sharon Roberts of Wolcott, two grandchildren Nicole (Timothy) Grevell and RJ (Julie) Roberts, great grandchildren Tess, Sophie, Emily, Kaitlynn and David and sister Alice Brown of Cape Coral, Fl. Predeceased by his wife Violet and daughter Susan. He was born in Rochester June 2, 1913. A graduate of Edison Tech., he worked for Delco Products over 35 years retiring in 1980. Served with the US Army's 5th Airborne in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Member of the National Thunderbird Club, Past President of the Rochester Thunderbird Club, British American Club of Rochester. Friends may call Wednesday (Oct. 19th) from 4-7 PM at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller St., Newark, NY where funeral services will follow at 7 PM with Rev. Lee Prong officiating. Burial will be in Macedon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Tree Fund, Wayne County Nursing Home, 1529 Nye Road, Lyons, N.Y. 14489.
