Sherlea A. O’Dell

Newark—Sherlea A. O’Dell, 80, died Thursday (October 1, 2009) at the Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, New York.       

She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Carl J.,  her children Gary (Patricia) Schoepfel of Chicago, Dianne (Chuck) Wisniewski of Syracuse, Danny (Lisa) O’Dell of Newark, Dale (Jennifer) O’Dell of St Louis, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister Jean Tripp of Marion, several nieces and nephews.

          Mrs. O’Dell was born on May 1, 1929 in Rochester, the daughter of John and Antoinette “Nettie” Benninger Laveck.  Sherlea and her husband owned and operated Carl’s Pools, Inc in Newark, for fourteen years, before retiring in 1988.  In retirement, they split their time living in Three Mile Bay, New York and Leesburg, Florida.

          Family and friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Friday (October 9th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.  Funeral services will follow at 7 PM with Father Felix Dalimpuo officiating.      Memorials in her name may be made to the Sisters of the Cross, 724 Ives Street, Watertown, New York 13601.
