Taylor Rae Bliss
Newark ---Taylor Rae Bliss, 20, died Tuesday (July 23, 2013) at Strong Memorial Hospital following a ATV accident on Monday.
Friends may call from 4 – 8 P.M. on Friday (July 26th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be at
11 A.M. on Saturday (July 27th) at the First United Methodist Church, South Main Street, Newark, New York. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.
Memorials, in Taylor's name, may be made to either the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, New York 14489 or to the Alex Eligh Community Center, PO Box 43, Newark, New York 14513.
Taylor was born in Newark, on August 23, 1992 the daughter of Larry and Patricia Blankenberg Bliss. She was a 2010 graduate of the Newark High School where she was active in soccer, softball, basketball, the link crew and choir. She also played in a travel soccer league. Taylor was a caring person and enjoyed working with kids. For a couple of summers, she worked in the Alex Eligh park program and has been volunteering with the Kitz Summer Soccer Program. After high school, Taylor attended New York State University at Cortland where she majored in physical education. In September of 2012, she switched her career plans to nursing and was attending the Finger Lakes College of Nursing. Taylor loved the outdoor activities, boating, hiking, fishing, hunting and recently added auto racing to her list of things to do.
She is survived by her parents Larry and Patricia; her maternal grandmother Eleanor Blankenberg of Williamson and paternal grandmother Carolyn Bliss of Newark; her godparents Tina and Joe Herman of Marion; aunts and uncles Walter and Elaine Blankenberg of Williamson, Terry and Diana Dinse of Ontario, Rodney Bliss of Newark, Rustin and Marlene Havert, Vickie Bliss all of Newark; several cousins and many good friends and her beloved dogs Jacky Boy and Buddy. Taylor is predeceased by her grandfathers Jacob Blankenberg and Raphael “Ray” Bliss.
