Thomas F. Critelli
Newark –Thomas F. Critelli, 96, died Saturday (February 6, 2010) at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.
Friends may call on Tuesday (February 9th) from 4-7 PM at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Wednesday (February 10th) at St. Michael’s Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
Memorials in his name may be made to the St. Michael’s Church, 401 South Main Street, Newark, New York 14513.
Mr. Critelli was born in Newark, on January 3, 1914 the son of Felix and Rose Rocco Critelli. He was a 1932 graduate of Newark High School. Tom was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church and a member of the Newark Council #897 Knights of Columbus. He had worked for Bilotto News and Hallagan Furniture. Tom retired from the Village of Newark in 1976, where he had been foreman of the water department. He enjoyed making woodcrafts and painting pictures,
Tom loved working in his garden and was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by three daughters Patricia (Eugene) Mason of Newark, Marilyn (Stephen) Thompson of Williamson and Mary Alice Nicoletta of Newark; thirteen grandchildren 23 great grandchildren, a brother-in-law Anthony DeLisio, many nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Rosalie (DeLisio) in 2003, a son-in-law Dr. Robert Nicoletta, five brothers Anthony, Frank, Nicholas, Joseph and Michael, a sister Catherine Amrose.
