Newark"Vera Holmes, 83 of Pine Ridge Drive, died Monday (June 27, 2005) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

A Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Thursday (June 30th) in the Chapel of Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court, Newark with the Rev. Deborah Grohman, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Park Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, Maple Court, Newark, New York 14513.

Mrs. Holmes was born in Frankfort, New York on April 15, 1922. For the past 33 years, she had been a Newark resident. She was a 1944 graduate of Potsdam University and taught elementary education for several years. Vera was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church where she had been the flower chairman. She also had been a member of the Newark Country Club.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years David E., son Alan W. (Carol) of Niskayuna, NY, two grandsons Kevin A. and Gary C. (Amy) Holmes and a great granddaughter Maggie
