Newark--Virginia M. Price, 95, died on Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

Friends may call from 4 –7 P.M. on Tuesday (July 2nd) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Father Felix Dalimpuo will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A. M. on Wednesday (July 3rd) at St. Michael Church. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Memorials, in her name, may be made to the St. Michael Church, 401 South Main Street, Newark, New York 14513 or the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, New York 14489.

Mrs. Price was born February 4, 1918 in Phelps, the daughter of August and Minnie Daken Zeger. She was a communicant of St. Micheal’s Church, a volunteer at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, Wayne County Meals on Wheels, Red Cross Multiple Gallon Blood Donor, and a member of the Newark Grange.

She is survived by her two daughters Barbara (Robert) DesCamp of Magnolia, Texas and Carol Boyce of Newark; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews. Virginia married Raymond Price on September 4, 1938 and they shared 67 years of marriage until his death in 2005. She was also predeceased by a daughter Madelyn DeWispelaere Scherer in 2004 and six siblings Ida Mattoon, Mary Raes, Jennie VanDamme, Frank, Ed and George Zeger.

The family wishes to thank The Terrace of Newark for making mom's stay there enjoyable. Also, a special thanks to Connie and the staff of Canalside and the hospice staff at the Wayne County Nursing Home for their compassionate care during mom's last days.
