Newark"Wilma L. Nellis, 68, of West Miller Street, died on Friday (September 2, 2005) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

Friends may call from 6-9 PM on Tuesday (September 6th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday (Sept. 7th) at the funeral home with Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mrs. Nellis was born in Phelps on April 25, 1939, the daughter of W. Richard and Gladys Goodman Smith. She retired from the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital where she had worked in the office. Previously she had worked for Comstock Foods and Bloomer Brothers in Newark. Wilma was a 1955, graduate of Phelps Central School.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Donald E., her son Edwin (Donna) of Newark, daughters Donna (Ed) Bedette of Lyons, Joanne Nellis of Newark and Bonnie Jones (fiance Gere Otterbein) of Newark, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister Shirley Wiliera of Rome, NY, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
