Newark—Mark Eric Ameele, 62, died on October 6, 2021 at the Sodus Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Sampson Memorial Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Ameele was born in Newark, NY on June 27, 1959 the son of the late Nelson and Virginia Van Houte Ameele. He was a graduate of Newark Senior High School, Class of 1978. He served his country in the US Army. For many years he worked at Garlock in Palmyra.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Lozier Ameele; two daughters Rebbeca Ameele and Sarah (Josh) Tennies. He was predeceased by his parents, his step father Orville Tack; a brother Dale Ameele; a sister Sharon Proserus.
